FAQ'S

More About My Lessons

WHAT AGE DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BE TO TAKE LESSONS?

The average age for starting lessons is 6 years old. However, my criteria is that they should be able to sit still for at least 15 minutes and know their alphabet!

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE FOR THE LESSON?

There are many factors that go into determining the cost of my lessons. First, you will be working with a formally trained teacher with a diverse musical background. This makes for both a high quality and fun lesson. Second, the materials fee is a one time charge. This means that I will provide all materials for my students, including books, practice folders, and whatever else they may need. Third, every semester there will be a chance for students to showcase what they have been working on in lessons in a recital performance. Recital performances are optional, but highly encouraged!

IF MY SCHEDULE CHANGES, CAN I CHANGE MY LESSON TIME?

Absolutely! If for any reason your schedule completely changes, I will work with you to find a new time that will fit your needs better.

WHAT IF I MISS A LESSON?

First, out of courtesy to the teacher and other students, if for any reason you cannot make it to your lesson, contact me or send me a message twenty-four hours in advance. We will definitely be able to reschedule for another time either that week or during my allotted make-up week. However, "no-shows" will NOT be made up.

CAN I CANCEL MY LESSONS/PAYMENT PLAN?

In short, no. Only I can cancel payment plans. However, if you are a new student who had a free first lesson and decide that we are not a good fit for each other, I will definitely cancel your payment plan for you! On the other hand, if you decide you want to discontinue lessons in the middle of the semester, you will still have to pay the rest of your plan.

MY CHILD IS HOMESCHOOLED, DO YOU OFFER MORNING LESSONS?

Yes! Contact me and we can set up a time that works best for you.

WHAT IS YOUR MUSICAL BACKGROUND?

I have been playing music since I was in preschool. I have had the opportunity to play in many different bands and orchestras on high school and collegiate levels on a variety of instruments from flute to harp. Piano is my ultimate passion. I have my undergraduate degree in Piano Pedagogy and have been able to study under many amazing teachers. I have also gotten the opportunity to perform in many different settings such as chamber groups, accompanist, jazz band pianist, big band pianist, and solo performances.
